You would think this decision took place over some time.
You would think he would have have a successor in place if he had been planning this. Doesn't seem any current Bama coaches are serious candidates.
Perhaps if Sark or Kiff was still there. Certainly not Rees.
Probably wants one of his former asistants to do it and they all have jobs elsewhere. Am sure he can't just call and say hey take this over.
Money circumstances. Timing. Existing contracts. So that's where I think he tells the ad these guys would be good and they know Bama. And the ad goes after them. Like they did with lanning. But lanning doesn't have enough experience imo
job
It doesn't make any sense. I'd bet he did have a succession plan, a very obvious one. I'd also bet a good amount that plan failed earlier in the week when the actual #1 candidate turned down the job,,,, and for several good reasons.
Saban hasn't had a static staff in years but why do you think he didn't have a plan. With any plan he needs administration buy in and needs to have alternatives if contracts or other such things stand in the way of a hire...Like all the rumors I suggest Saban had a ist fo coaches he thought highly of that he gave the administration and is leaving it u to them to do their due diligense and select from.
