I know Larry didn’t do sheet for ten years. Collected 50 mil before he got fired. But George did absolutely nothing for a year. He should have have been in LA every month working with Folt to see what he could do to make SC happy. 2X revenue shares? Check. Favorable 8 conference games. Check. Favorable times. Check No Thursday games in Corvallis. Check. ( although those were fun to watch)
if SC still said No, fine. But he did nothing.
it makes no sense He said he was blind sided. Bull sheet. It was all over the Ohio st sites on YouTube a year ago how SC had reached out to the BIG. And how they weren’t going to tolerate 40 mil yr while Indy and Purdue were getting 100 million.
he was blind sided while fishing in Montana . And the PAC continues to pay this guy 5 mil/ yr.
Remember the first conference rule has always been screw USC because there is not a damn thing USC can do about it. Throwing us under the bus in Bushgate may have been the final straw. And yes money was numero uno in the move but make no mistake the decades long mistreatment of USC by the conference was a factor. JMHO all you USC haters
The Pac-12 Commissioner nor any other member schools stuck up for USC during alleged Reggie Bush/Todd McNair Hearings/Execution. The SEC went to bat for their schools in their scandals. Oregon and others thought it was great when USC was not allowed to play in a bowl game or a league championship for a number of years....several of which...USC was the best team in the South Division and perhaps the conference. Then Clay Helton.... Oregon State, Wazoo, Cal, the Arizona schools all made a ton of money (EQUAL SHARES) in the shadow and gravity of USC Football. No more apparently.
lots of room for second guessing now. USC was clearly the aircraft carrier of the conference. Oregon with its small media market cannot carry the conference. The numbers just dont work. ucla was incredibly fortunate the Trojans allowed them to piggyback. The bruins will Have money to hire the next football coach rather than stay in the Pac and face bankruptcy.
