If only he was good as your hero, Clay Helton. He's really killing it at Georgia Southern. No doubt he turned down Bama because he really enjoys Savannah. Kind of surprised he turned the Falcons' job down last year. Maybe Hotlanta was just too big of a city for him.
"Sure, he won a Sugar Bowl in 2008 vs Alabama while at Fresno State" Que? I doubt Fresno State has ever played in the Sugar Bowl. He beat Saban in the Sugar Bowl as Utah's coach. Whittingham had Meyer's players still and Saban still had Shula's players, but no Fresno State in that picture.
For some reason people still feel Whit is among the best coaches in the old pac-12.
What did he ever do there?
Sure, he won a Sugar Bowl in 2008 vs Alabama while at Fresno State.
He never won a BCS-level bowl game while at Utah. Heck, even Mike Bellotti won a BCS bowl and ended up with the number 2 team in the nation in 2001 just behind Miami.
Same sort of accolades are bestowed by many herein upon Chris Petersen, but what did he ever do at UW? Like Whit he's probably best known for what he did before he got to the conference, not after.
Heck, Oregon's Mark Helfrich did more than either.
Don't get me wrong, both Coach Pete and Coach Whit are really solid, great guys - but were they really great coaches while in the p10/p12? Hmmmmm.......
He didn't have a billionaire slave trader financing his program and still managed to win PAC12 titles. Developed strong defenses, not flashy offenses. Bo and Woody would have loved him.
Good luck getting black peoples to move to Utah . sc
really good football coach. wish SC had him. sc
Another Tampon hero FAILS!
Now we need the ultimate Tampon hero, Riley, to be sent back to QB coach where he belongs.

Andy Ludwig leaving was the first sign .
