Until I hear that he has added another IMPACTFUL DAY ONE STARTER at DL playing the 1 and or 3 technique, then we will still be lacking along the DL. Talk is cheap. All of his efforts should be directed at the TP and finding a DL. It will be the difference between one and three losses

the defense needs to get fixed. Playing grab ass for 2 weeks with a 2 week break in between. Isn't going to work. If you can't figure that out, well I guess Riley has a coaching spot available for you.

Two guys names keep coming up are Sio and a Tank both big interior defensive linemen....we should know after April if Riley can pull these guys in. Not sure on Sio size but the Tank is 6'5" 320 and a grad student.

just As in business you evaluate what resources you have available to you. And chart the best path given them. USC last year had a weak front 7. Some solid players. No depth. going man on man all the way down the field was not going. To work. And you can’t just “coach better” you morons.

week 1 or 2 I correctly observed this was a “go but or go home” defense. Many knew day 1 usc would have a good O. They did. many felt their d would make them a 7-5 or 8-4 team. They were 11-1 at that stage. Ball security was the key. Naturally relying on that means risks and big plays. so yeah they looked awful in some Wins. Ucla and nd. And losses. Utah Tulane. But they went 11-3 and overall that’s probably about as good as they were going to expect. The usc d last year was actually a few points better than 21 per game. not that that’s a huge celebration point

now I assume he thinks he has better talent. I’m betting they improve even more.

my prediction is they will shave about 5 points a game off their scoring average and they will score about 5 more per game. Tougher schedule so it may not show up in the win column. I still think even so this is a 11-2 team. Maybe that’s not the nc people are demanding but In rebuilding a program that’s awfully good for year 2.

what exactly is a high-level defense? Sounds like a nonsensical term thrown out there to assuage fan concerns but portends nothing will change. More "wait til november" or "we'll look at the tape" canards.
