Don't forget during the Clemson glory years they actualy had an offense that took heat off the defense. Since Lawrence left their offense has sucked and has put a ton more pressure on the defense. Bottom line Venables defenses rally never had to carry Clemson and after Lawrence they do. If anything the Clemson defesne is possibly playing better now than they ever did in those years Venables was coaching at Clemson...and counting the won loss record of Venables at Clemson is assinine. After all he was just the DC not the HC...

Saying Clemson hasn't been the same since he left is as well. It attributes the state of the program to the dc. Of course saying he's the second best coach in America is as well. Which is where this all started.

Venables leaving "obviously had a major impact" - Java.

An impact can be positive or negative.

Whe you say Venables leaving "had a major impact" are you saying it was a positive one or a negative one on Clemson?

Also, when I posted "Clemson hasn't been the same since Venables left." Please show where I said Oklahoma had a good record last season or mentioned Oklahoma at all in that statement.

Using your logic clay helton is a better coach than Lincoln Riley. How long have you felt that way?

My argument is:

Clemson 2022 immediately after Venebles left? Almost exactly the same as just before he left. The Clemson slide started in 2021 you dolt. With Venebles.

Oklahoma? 2022? Immediately upon venebakes arrival and Riley's departure? Disaster.

USC? 2022? Immediately upon Riley's arrival? One of the best turnarounds in the sports history.
