I found. Face value was $95. 5 years later I’ll assume we are around $110.
if so we know ucla passed on selling another 20,000 tickets. Thats 2.2 million. But wait. Theres more. I’m guessing the average person probably spends at least $10-$15 at the refreshment stand. And 20,000 people is probably about 10,000 cars. granted that’s not all profit but.
it would appear ucla would generate about $300,000 in concessions off that additional crowd. And about the same in parking.
they would have had incremental revenue on ticket sales and marginal profit of some sort on concessions. No idea how many banners and shirts people buy but I bet benedickleater knows. At least one every twenty years for him. Not sure if purchases by parents count here but why not.
so seems to me ucla has for the sake of image and embarrassment. Passed on a sellout. A raucous crowd. And about $2.6 million in additional revenue. 2.4 of which I’m guess would be profit.
the athletic department just walked away from its most profitable game of the year. Even though they have $100 million in athletic dept debt. Apparently they’ll allow usc to rescue them from their financial mess but not let them in the building. That’s gratitude for you .
129 a ticket was he price before they sold out.
I wonder what happens if they don't come up with the debt money. same question with Cal and their stadium debt . Can they declare bankupt? have no idea. sc
Java, I think they were $150 each. Ridiculous, they made up for the lower volume of tix sold by increasing prices to new heights. Obviously gouging Trojans fans as they knew we would go in big numbers. Fawkers.
