I suppose it wouldn't do any harm at this point. USC is probably looking at seven wins. That means a pretty mediocre bowl. So there's not a whole lot to lose.
It's too bad Moss lost his job. Miller is a good Trojan and nice young man. He was a loyal Trojan and to USC. QB1 is the man and must lead and win games. With 5 losses, it was time for a change. But, a lot of blame must be pointed to the Wr's and OL as well. Good thing Moss was not seriously hurt after 9 games. He was too inconsistent with his throws. Plus his IT's were mounting. When Moss ran, good things happened to the O.
Next man up. Hope Maiava kills it vs Nebraska.
PS. If AD Cohen made the decision, it's not good folks. Cohen and LR relationship is done and over. The next step for Cohen is fire C LR and eat his contract and move on. C LR has done a poor job running the FB program. No more long term contracts (4 years the most)...
Seems to me that USC has plenty of talent. Who would really leave with him other than maybe a quarterback? And that probably wouldn't be catastrophic. A lot depends on who the incoming coach would be.
That reminds me, what's the situation with Indiana? They're killing it in Year One with this new coach. He had to have brought some key players with him, but wasn't he at a lower division program?
Except, where is Riley going to go? Who's going to take him? A big school that can afford to pay him wants somebody with a recent track record of winning tough games, beating conference opponents, etc. A small school that sees him as an upgrade can't afford his salary. Why would he leave with that salary? His only move imo might the be nfl as an OC coordinator a la Kingsberry. Maybe Chicago? But I don't see that either and its a big pay cut for LR.
Maybe interesting, but it’s not going to save the season. If Maiava can lead the team and win the 3 last games, then I will revisit the topic on the season overall as well as the program’s future. Regardless of how it ends, CLR is going to get mercilessly ridiculed on the board, and rightly so.
There’s always a jr/rs sr out there he can get for one or two seasons.
Riley still has street cred as a QB whisperer. Besides, if Maiava flames out, he’ll be gone anyways. Whoever comes in would almost be guaranteed the job. And we play portal paddy until Ryder Lyons steps on campus.

I'm thinking Andrew Friedman

When was the last 3 star to start a game as the USC QB? Unfortunately, same dumb coach.
yea…
