Mario to Miami?

Sounds like there could be some smoke there (kudos to tempomacdougall and his sources!) Although I still feel his recent 2 day trip to Miami was only to see his mom.

Should know more after the p12 championship game tonight and the weekend.

With everything going on in the coaching carousel lately, either he wants to move on to his alma mater or just be paid fairly at Oregon. If he does go on to win 3 p12 championships in a row, he probably should get a bit of a raise....especially with all the money being thrown around lately to other top college head coaches.

Personally, I don't think he'll head to Miami, but you never know with coaches. Here's the latest from John Canzano....no doubt spurred on by recent events and by Miami's ruthless courting. Thank God for the shoes many of you are wearing!! (swoosh!) 😆

I read a month ago Miami is willing to go big with the dollars for their next hire...and if he can recruit florida like he did in Southern Cal he will have a powerful force going on there...Miami is loaded with football talent...no need ot leave the state..

Even before tonight's beatdown (again), I was curious why Miami even wants a coach like Cristo, especially when it is coming out that Miami is ready to invest in their program. Cristo is just a bit better than mediocre. Heck, when UW's simply awful 2021 team has the chance to tie the score with just over two minutes to go in the game, that speaks volumes.

I don't care if he goes or stays. Reading and hearing most Husky fans, they would rather have him stay.

@mandb True dat. Nike almost blew it against UCLA too, and the Bruins were pretty shitty. The Ducks did beat Ohio State, so there's that. And I do think they're pretty banged up and are probably better than they appear. So we'll see moving forward.

The first thing they need to do is get a quarterback. That guy sucks.

LOL! Good one, Ballss. What you maybe don't get is that ultimately very school is a stepping stone. You saw it with Carroll. We saw it with Chip and with Rich Brooks. Likely you will experience it again before too long if the rumors are true about Riley and the NFL.

As a national brand and with Phil/Nike behind it plus a history of success as old as recruits (because what recruit cares what happened before he was born?), Oregon will reinvent itself if it has to, and most likely quickly, just like it did with Bellotti, Chip and again with Mario.

Rah! Fight on, my friend! Can't wait for the big game tonight! If Oregon suffers a repeat of two weeks ago, maybe Jhop and the boys will pay for his one-way plane ticket to Miami? 😝

Dude, calling Oklahoma a "stepping stone" school for anything is pretty lame. Yeah, Riley left them for USC, but it's not like he was just jerking the juice at Oklahoma while waiting for something better to come along. 4 consecutive conference titles. 3 playoff appearances in 5 years. 2 Heisman winners.

Just giving credit where it's due. Honestly, one has to wonder if Riley really is leaving Oklahoma because of the level of competition he'll face in the SEC, because I don't think he reached his ceiling at Oklahoma. Perhaps he thinks he'll have an easier path getting to the playoffs by winning the Pac 12. Maybe. But if you think about it, he'll still have to beat the same teams that beat his Sooners in three playoffs already. Gonna be interesting.

Regardless, if Riley can do at USC what he did at Oklahoma, which is the idea of course, USC fans should be so lucky.
