It's kinda funny, but when I tell people here in the Midwest that I went to UCLA, they always talk about how they used to watch UCLA in the Rose Bowl all the time while they were growing up, New Year's Day, the song girls bouncing around in their white sweaters, the football team killing the Big 10 every year. I do correct them, telling them they're thinking of USC. They just shrug.
In everything except football, you're in OUR shadow, bitch.
Problem is, the shadow of football looms larger than everything else combined
And here's what's funny. I have family in the midwest. Lot of Purdue grads. Wife from Michigan. When I tell them I went to USC? They know EXACTLY who USC is. They remember the beatings. They remember the lost championships.
So the fact they have no idea who the hell you are or your forgettable school isn't my problem. And it sure isn't a commentary on USC. It's a commentary on 1) The stupidity of the people you know are related to and meet. (pick a better crowd) and 2) The complete irrelevance and anonymity that is UCLA football.
And yeah, if by "everything else" you mean women's softball and a basketball program that only people in their 90's remember as being a Champion? Then yahoo, you win.
They just keep coming back for more, Waldorf!
Stalindork should admit, he is hoping the brunes move to the Big 10 gets nixed by Newsome....they will kick ass in that newly confgured Pac 11.
McNeese State. Louisiana. Montana State. Cal Poly. EQUALLY IMPRESSIVE!
At least Marshall beat Notre Dame, something USC can't do to save their lives.
