Mater dei video.

Now this guy has no inside j do but I think he has pieced this together. I think this school is so arrogant they think their culture. Their facilities. Their program is so far beyond one guy running it that they don’t need someone who doesn’t fit.

So. A guy who wears his hat backwards? A guy who accuses a fellow Catholic school. Correctly actually. Of stealing signs? A guy who challenges bishop Gorman to a fight/game in the parking lot? A guy who probably had a few tough guy moments on campus too? And then follows it up by cursing at 8th graders in spring passing league games? Rico says it’s like the military. You just don’t fit their culture. And Bruce Rollinson knew how and who to schmooze.

What’s great about this video is he talks about when and how you can curse at kids and coach them hard. Whether they are 8th grade or hs or college. And why schools like mater Dei or colleges with all these transfers have such a hard time with it. Coaching hard.

It’s really worth the listen. Even if it is 17 min

Oh and he says they’ll have their pick of coaches. So maybe their arrogance is justified.

Anyone know why TROY THOMAS han't been hired by a CATH. H.S ? My nephew played at Univ. of Hawaii when he was a Gung Ho Grad. assit coach. there. He ran into him in Costa Mesa & Thomas said that he does not have teaching credintial ,which CATH. schools don't require. I always loved his FIRE IN THE BELLY.

I can tell you that the money that coaches make is astoundingly varied. That video talks about the defensive coordinator at a high school position on indeed being advertised for $75,000 a year. I had to laugh because the guy doing the video said it would be a pay cut. I can tell you that at small private schools and the high desert teachers coach the teams and their reward for a whole season of giving themselves almost every day to that team and driving hours sometimes until late at night. Their reward is $2000 for the season.

Yep. 2k. I’ve heard of guys quitting when found that out because it didn’t even cover their gas.

Actually I have more than heard of. Part of the reason. I ended up coaching parts of 3 seasons in hs was that. They were short staffed and I got approached. Repeatedly

I can't imagine what playing football would have been like without being yelled and cursed at. It was just part of being on the team. It's not like everyone didn't know when they had it coming. We all did fine in life. Imagine that. Look back smile and laugh. sc

Well now I tuned in and saw grove get out of the 7th.

And yeah monopoly oddly started as a political game decided by some lady with socialist leanings to demonstrate the evils

Of capitalism. But everyone had so much fun hoarding money and bankrupting their family and friends it kinda ended up being a salesman for capitalism and learning how to handle and manage money. Hahahaha wasn’t exactly her original Marxist idea

I would agree with him about the hard coaching. I never cursed at or around kids but. I was a hard coach. But hardest mostly on the kids I’d had for years or travel kids. They got it. They knew how hard I and we worked.

Some kid in ll who just joined the team or some new travel kid. I didn’t coach him hard frankly I didn’t give a flip about him. I mostly ignored them lol. After we had some history then fine. I’d invest something into them

League. The difference is I also coached travel ball and some hs. And in travel beat Troy Percival. Look him up. And Steve garveys team he sponsored and his kid played on. And Lenny dykstras kid when Lenny was in jail and his brother coached the team.

Greatest accomplishment? Probably not producing 2 professionals. Or 4-5 D1 players. Or like 9 college players total. Nope. To me I think it was that off our first travel team every single one. All 12 of those kids made varsity at their schools. Some of them pretty big schools like oak hills. Barstow. Victor. All 12 made varsity. As freshmen.

Now all joking aside. You go ask Pasadena. Go ask coachemup. How often do kids make varsity as freshmen in baseball? They’ll tell you it happens. It’s not unusual. Once in awhile. Now. Have they ever heard of all 12 kids making varsity off one team in the same year? Doesn’t happen son.

So yeah. Bunch of awards. Trophies good careers. All cif and all state players. Imo the 12 varsity freshmen. Which happens to be the age we are talking about here. Is the best accomplishment.

As to you? Aren’t you a gook or something? Unless you’re Japanese or Korean the only game you’re qualified to comment on is badminton. Sure isn’t baseball or football. Then again I didn’t play broomball so I know nothing about football. What do I know
