That is a LOT of kids leaving that playoff SEC champion program 36. They practically need to rebuild the thing over 2 years. Not the same back to back dominant champs they were
Michael spent 3 years at USC, caught about 17 balls a year. Goes to Georgia and many of us thought "wow, USC is losing talent to all these big programs" Well. Michael caught 1 pass this year at Georgia. May have only played in one. Looks like Michael has one year left and will have to step down a level to be able to get some stuff on film. I would guess UNLV is where he heads.
Sam Darnold. The Vikes will keep him. Will field offers for JJ McCarthy who they will promote as being the #1 pick in this years draft if he were available. And they'll want multiple #1's for him, while he has value. Darnold I predict till get $160 million over 4 years. I didn't think they'd just let him walk. Thought they might FT him, but this works too. Still can cut him after a couple years if it doesn't work out.
So if we had to grade the seasons they had versus what they would have been expected to have at USC?
Domani-better PT with a nominally better team (8-4 and a bowl game loss, several wins versus D2 type schools)
Curtis went backwards with a worse team Bad move
Foreman pretty much treaded water at a lower level Bad move
Tarquin-not sure if he would have played at USC, but went to a worse team and didn't perform well. Wash
Mario-good year, lower level team but good move
Singer-bad team but who would have known? Was going to a quality Utah program and did well. Good move
Wright-again, a worse team but lot more PT Good move
Wolfe-21.5 catches a game, started 3/4 of games. Lower level team and league. Almost a bad move
Brown, Barlow, Zandamela, Michael Jackson, complete and total failures. Disaster transfers.
I'd say it worked out ok for Domani, Mario, Singer, Wright and that's about it.
USC had 26 players portal last year. Only OL Milek didn’t hook up with a team. Mario and Singer had good stats. Other than that none impressed at their new schools.
