You might be surprised how many people outside the West confuse the two universities. College football fans seldom do, but many others make that mistake. Here in the Midwest I've seen it a number of times.
Some of my co-workers kinda knew that I went to UCLA, and some of them would casually congratulate me on big bowl wins and national titles during the Pete Carroll era. And I remember once I met a woman at a backyard barbeque in the mid-90s who noticed I was wearing a UCLA t-shirt, and she said, "Go O.J.!" and laughed, because O.J. was, uh, in the news a lot at that time.
Or fled a newer Bronco? Those are so much faster now, and with the range of the new engine he could have just punched it until he busted through the San Ysidro crossing gate and turned into El Negra OJ or El Zumo De Naranja.
