Keep Dontae as the salesmen. Every program needs one
John McKay to Pete Carroll in December 2000
“ Pete, just win and they will kick the door down to play here “
Agree with everything except keeping Dontae. Leave no coach behind. Eeryone needs to go who has any connection with Gomer. Plenty of dcent recruiters out there and Cerritos auto square is hiring. So, no problem for him to find a new gig. He can't coach for shit
DC
PT i think you were generous and graded on the curve
The bruins looked like they were in the SC huddle all night long. They frequently moved to where the play was going before the snap. They were in an appropriate defense whether SC ran a run or pass play. Harrell has become so predictable, and the bruin DC was taking advantage all night long.
I agree with a lot of this.....good post.
Call me a glasses half full guy, But the only direction to go is UP.
I can't picture SC football getting worse .
All that is needed is a GOOD SOLID EXPERIENCED COMPETENT head coach that can assemble a competent coaching staff. That's it. Everything else follows. Football isn't complicated. Blocking and tackling are not complicated. Kids being put in the best position to make plays isn't complicated. The weight room works. COMPETITION in practice works. That , as well as being able to talk a dog off a meat wagon was Pete's Carroll's secret to success.
Now if Raisins, iq66, and Lord of the fake lake/harbor had gotten their way and Hugs would be at SC indefinitely, then it's time to get another hobby.
We can argue about who might be best. It's all a crapshoot. There are a lot of really good coaches out there. And at this point we know what we don't want, and that's anyone with any ties to USC coaching this century.
Hire a GOOD, doesn't even have to be great head coach. Let that coach put together a great staff, and let them do their job. Someone that can teach athletes how to play college football. When that foundation is set, recruiting will improve and SC will be competitive again. A real coaching staff would end these dumpster fire blowouts right away.
Peterson would stop the bleeding day one and set a solid foundation. So that's who I would go with. But after what he saw this season, I am not sure if he is still interested. sc
