ESPN paid Texas 15 mil / yr ten years ago for a fake Network to keep them out of the PAC if NBC wants to play NCAA football they will pay up close to that.
ND is asking for something they have little chance of getting. The BIG should also tell them to take their hockey team and go find another league to play in. .
...if the Trojans and Bruins really do stand to earn $100 million annually from B1G TV money, the Irish aren't asking for the moon; they're just trying to keep up with the Joneses.
Currently Notre Dame earns $22 million annually from NBC (not actually $15 million). So, the $53 million raise they're seeking isn't out of line with what USC and UCLA will be getting. In fact, if the Trojans and Bruins really are earning about $35-40 million annually from Pac 12 Networks, then they stand to get a bigger raise -- assuming the $100 million B1G figure holds water.
Seems that ND is asking for a huge sum above their current media rights contract, $75 mil vs. current $15 mil, to stay independent. If they don't get that ask, then ND would feel more free to join a conference, like the B1G 10.
Simple...don't join conference lose BCS Bowl eligiibility....screw those holy then thou POS....as you can see I hate the school and it's coverups, special treatment by the NCAA and so on..
Notre Dame has been and still is a sacred cow. I will call your hating Notre dame and raise you. I believe my parents said my first words weren’t mommy or daddy but I hate Notre dame.
