@samcasino everything will depend on how the Trojans play on the field. All bets off if Helton’s future becomes shaky (-ier) But with our schedule, most analysts are predicting much success for SC.
Congrats! Gonna be fun watching USC and Oregon battle it out the next few years, that's for sure! Oregon just got a commit today from 4-star LBer TJ Dudley from Alabama. More soon to Quack on tap....
If you can't beat the SEC, simply have their kids join you in the West!! 🙂
Considering how close some of those games were last year, how disjointed the offense was, how the O Line and running game actually regressed, and how Oregon really controlled the game last year, I'm not sure we have the coaching to get to a Rose Bowl. I hope I'm wrong, and if Helton goes on a run that's fine. I don't care who coaches as long as they win and put out a quality product.
Hopefully last year was a covid thing. We'll see. As 66 says, that's why they play the games.
last years team found a way to win, it was part of its identity. that identity started the year before, the comeback Slovis led at Colorado, the clutch plays he continually makes. the Oregon game was a case of going to the well one too many times-when I was a kid growing up, SC always seemed to find a way to win close big games. It wasn’t always blowouts. after a long drought of non clutch qb’s, we had Sam and now Slovis. Very quietly, this staff, has improved the speed at wide receiver with the transfer portal.
@BigBallss Some fair points. However, improving the speed at WR was pretty damn low on the priority list lol. Maybe it will help with separation which was a legit problem. But to me that was more of a scheme/ play call thing.
One thing is sure, the competition appears to be down in the PAC this year, and clearly "south competition" asu is going to be a tad distracted lol.
The reason most people are crediting for the recruiting jump start is the support staff that Bohn /Helton assembled. I think it’s Donte being a one man wrecking crew. the Dline talent is starting to look really good. foreman, Williams, Miller, sopsher. Daaamn. Oh and you want olinemen? Two 5* looking to commit there too. all Clay has to do is come thru in the fall with a bunch of wins and at minimum another Rose Bowl. And if he doesn, Luke Fickell will have some good talent to work with. That said, and I know this will upset a lot of people, Helton is about to go on a good run.
Let's wait and see how many of these verbal commits actually sign on the dotted line, then actually stay in school.

What's with the recruiting? I thought some point it would eventually fade with Helton at top. Two highly ranked southern DL is nothing to sneeze at.
