Nick Saban, Karen Bass, and the regulators

Anyone else notice the similarities between what the L.A. fire victims have to go through -- either to find a temporary place to live or to start clearing debris from their homes -- and Nick Saban's "rules" as the host in his Vrbo commercials?

"You can't live on your boat unless you get a permit."

"You can't clear debris from your home until the goverment inspects it and clears it for removal."

"You can't sell your property if someone presents you an unsolicited offer."

"You can't find a nice house to rent because the Governor's rent cap has taken all the good options off the market."

Etc.

People deserve exactly what they vote for and tolerate. f them all.

What is going to be great is when those west LA leftist who inherited their parents property taxes find out that it gets reassessed to what it's valued after the rebuild.

that means those nice homes you see with the crappy cars in the driveways of million dollar neighborhoods don't get to pay 4000 bucks for property taxes anymore and sometimes much less, but have to write two twenty thousand dollar dollar checks that only 10k of the total 40 is tax deductible.

Gubment is going to make a fortune.

Every time I post that the 80% Democrats in that area who voted for Karen Bass and Gavin Newsom. Are going to be so excited about the possibility of rebuilding Pacific Palisades. I wind up getting deleted from Insta chat and Facebook and all of that.

I told them how exciting it’s going to be to turn in 80% white community into Hispanic Asian black Middle Eastern, trans and gay and how we really need to overcome systemic racism by giving each group their “fair share“ and how wonderful it’s going to be to have representation in that community

I then go on and explain that now that we have the room in Pacific Palisades. We can also put our compassion into action and Barack and Michelle Obama‘s dream that “for some people to have a little bit more. Some people are going to have to give up a little bit more“ Well how easy it is when your house is already burned down?

All we have to do now is build the world‘s largest homeless shelter. We can get the homeless from downtown LA so we will solve two problems. We will use the space and we will get 50,000 people off the streets in Los Angeles and we can do it in a racially equal manner in a trans friendly and gay friendly manner. We can pass out free needles.

We can also make sure that instead of the population being 54% female, we can assure that it’s going to be 50-50. If you are truly passionate about equality and representation, we can also make sure that at least 40% of them are Republicans.

And to show how compassionate I am even though I’m a conservative, even though I don’t even live there? I will donate $10,000 to the organization that is going to build the homeless shelter. Who’s with me?

Great idea. If you turned the People’s Pailsades into a homeless shelter you could start rebuilding tomorrow. No need for building permits or government agents in hazmat suits to test the debris.

The State oversees the cleanup with Permits. ( usually with free aide from CA or the Feds ) The soil is contaminated with heavy metals, polymers, etc from the burn downs. You want homeowners Willy nilly removing soil and taking it where. ? You need sampling to go to either a regular landfill or hazardous waste landfill . You need sampling to show a proper site cleanup. That means standards with permits

It ludicrous that somehow the whole permit process should be waived. No cleanup standards. No building code standard , “ I can rebuild whatever I want, I don’t need no stinking permits “

You want to buy one of those homes in the future knowing that the site was never remediated or no building code standard were followed?

Rebuilds take time, what’s the rush? So go rent for 3 years. Sure it’s expensive, that’s todays World.
