Nico and Lanning

Supposedly Lanning called Heupel to tell him Nico’s agent was making phone calls.

“Reports surfacing that Dan Lanning was coach who initially contacted Tennessee HC Josh Heupel and let him know Nico was sniffing around for a deal”.

Believable because Big Dave is close to the Oregon staff and everyone knows Oregon has a big bag and a need for an experienced QB. Not believable because why would Lanning snitch out Nico? Nothing for him to gain.,

Nico has two years left. He ain’t beating out Donte Moore. And Ducks aren’t paying 4 mill. They don’t want him period. Now if he wants to walk on.

One of the Recruiting sites also reported it but had USC in the same conversation as telling Tennessee what was going on...actually there were three schools that did it and Notre Dame was also mentioned. A school of interest that was also brought up was North Carolina which wouldn't surprise me...

All the info from nd and usc and the timeline of all of this tells me the source for both usc and nd info is Bowden
