Northwestern is tearing down their current aged fac and building a new State of Art Stadium at a cost of $800 million. All privare funded. Riley family donated $480 million. Will reduce capacity to 35k from 47k. Will provide for better seating, all with backs , more leg room. Sight lines better Plazas, etc.
this is what Ore St is doing with their Stadium remodel. Going from 44k to 36k.
got me thinking. Why doesn’t UCLA do this where Drake Stadium is. Nice 35k stadium right on campus. Could still play SC game at SoFi. get out of that 100 year old piece of crap stadium where only 10k show up anyway.
there is something special about being able to WALK from the dorm room or frat house to the stadium
trust me
then there's The Lake
Just play at soldier field. Or Wrigley, the cubs barely use it in the fall.
Wonder if they got the funding by saying it was a new library?
What a great idea. Spend $800 million to reduce capacity to 35k for a team that doesn’t win. And doesnt really want to
if they Riley family likes nw football that much they can just build the new stadium and let the northwestern Riley’s play there in front of 50 family members. The world wouldn’t notice
Smaller than some HS stadiums.
