The playoffs begin on Friday for Oregon, and oddly enough in basically the same format as we'll see starting in 2024.
Think about it: My quacks need to win 4 games to earn a national championship this season. And all 4 games are vs ranked opponents, with the teams in ascending order of strength just like it would be in the coming 12-team college football playoffs.

Oregon vs #1-4 team at a neutral lsite

Win and advance, lose and go home.
I'm not saying Oregon will necessarily win a championship this year - heck, we could easily lose that first game to our rivals OSU like we did last season. But just being in this position is pretty amazing for fans of a team who rarely enjoyed winning seasons 30+ years ago. You Trojans and Bruins have no clue how much a simple Rose Bowl berth in 1994 meant to us duckies.
So apologies for my unbridled enthusiam here (especially to you, Brad - can't wait to see the gif you've devised for this post! My humble suggestion below).....this kind of thing is pretty rarified air for us quacks, unlike for you Trojans who have been in a similar postion countless times and have won 11 of them. Must be nice!! It was 9 long years ago we found ourselves in a place like this at the start of the 4-team playoffs back in 2014.
And with at least 2 wins, there might be a nice Heisman consolation prize involved as well.
So forgive us quacks, we're looking to get the "ZERO" off of our backs. Finally. Hopefully. Might not happen this season, but just being in a position of having this 4-game opportunity is pretty freakin' amazing for us fowl types.
Quack On!
Oregon's problem in getting in is USC.
Oregon's big statement game was supposed to be USC.
Unfortunately for the Ducks, USC has been exposed as a complete fraud this season.
Washington is the only team in the pac with a chance to get in, simply because they are undefeated.
I see Oregon winning out and sitting out.
Kind of sad because I think the Ducks would probably beat florida state, texas, alabama or the big ten champs.
Bama beats Georgia and they are both in, wash rinse repeat. sc
You're on the outside looking in at the moment.
12-1 Texas is in over Oregon
12-1 Florida St is in over Oregon
12-1 SEC Champ is in over Oregon.
Big10 champ is in, period.
You need Oklahoma to win the B12
Lousiville to the win the ACC
Georgia to beat Alabama in SEC CG
Then you have to beat Oregon St and UW.
Beaver fever, snatch it! Beardown
Not to rain on your parade, but the only sure bet for a P12 CFP entrant is if UDub wins out. if UO beats UDub and Bama beats UGA, I'm thinking the ducks' odds are pretty slim, esp if OSU beat Cheatigan. Better hope Texas and FSU both lose in their CCGs.
If you guys make it in, I'm rooting for you.
Bo Nix is a stud and a good guy.
And he doesn't paint his fingernails.
Just give us some of your backup DLs in transfer season.
Pretty please.
