Wanting to put up a gazebo or lattice on a patio, not sure if I want to do traditional wood lattice, aluminum, or one of those new "cali-room pergolas" which are aluminim and can rotate the beams to be either "open air" or have a somewhat solid roof and siding. Have power and all that readily availble, and looking for a three sided deal that can both be open for breeze when needed, or closed when weather sucks. Any help would be appreciated.

WTF is a cali-room pergola?
I have one. Ive seen simpler with just a fireplace seating area that are just fine. A big determinate is how much shade vs sun you want. The location of house windows is important to how you do the roof/ceiling. A solid roof can have skylights.
The room has polycarbonate panels 24" on center on a 16' high pergola. Its basically a carefully designed greenhouse with no sidewalls.
A few things I did right that make sort of a checklist to consider.
a) cantina door to combine kitchen eating area with outside
b) electric water heater for outside hot water
c) smoker/green egg ,gas barbecue, and gas pizza oven adjacent to each other
d) big outside refdigerator under counter
e) bar/prep sink to sewer line
f) fire pit adjacent
g) ceiling fan
h) extra power in multiple spots for lighting and entertainment stuff
i) 2nd dishwasher is great for entertaining
j) multiple floor drains with water proof construction generally
k) pre-wired for TV and projector along with HDMI cable to other TV for sync
L) outdoor speakers
M) LED strip lighting in a couple places
N) High ceiling so it feels open
o) close to main kitchen with pass through window
P) wok stove with huge burner useable as griddle
The food prep area faces "out" so I'm not isoolated when cooking.
Mistakes
Gas supply needs to be huge if you have multiple appliances and or fire pit+barbecue+stove+. This addition was super expensive.
Ended up adding a subpanel becasue of all the appliances and systems--expensive error.
Too much seating
Too many electric appliances
