Now out of Chapos sons the one that turned himself in is not the big fish when it comes to the sons. The two shot caller sons are still out there, and word is they had been fighting Mayo for control. Relations between Mayo and the Chapitos have not been good since Mayos son, Vicente, testified against Chapo in New York. Chapo got several life sentences and Vicente got his release from prison. By the way, Mayos brother Rey Zambada also testified against Chapo and got out of a long prison sentence.

As far as the power vacuum created by mayo's capture, look for the CJNG to step up its game and ramp up the violence along the US border cities. The fight for control of the Tijuana and Juarez drug corridors into the US are going to heat up.

But why did Mayo turn himself in ? Notice Mexico is still quiet about the arrest. That means they had no idea it was happening. The US didn't even provide a courtesy call. And the arrest happened in US territory. This is good, I can't wait for the Netflix special. I think Mayo and Chapos son just turned themselves in to avoid being killed in Mexico. Mayo is old and in bad health, forced to move around in his mountain hideouts to avoid capture. Never sleeping in the same house two nights in a row... thats a tough life for an old man.
