I’m in Chicago for a week. Somehow I blinked and it’s been 15 years since I’ve been here. What a cool city. Great steaks, but still looking for THE steak. I think New York wins the pizza battle tho. Deep dish is ok but thin crust rules, imo. Michigan Avenue is great. Cool bars and plenty of nice stores. Polish dogs at Byron’s met the hype. Very few if any homeless downtown. Did they push them out of the downtown area? Drove out to the outskirts to SeatGeek stadium to drop off my boys for a music festival and was introduced to Cicadas, what the hell? They sure make a racket. Took a tour of the architectural buildings along the river. Recommend. Decent Tomahawk steak at Michael Jordan’s restaurant but not the best I’ve had. I’m here for a few more days if anyone knows a better steakhouse. I can google but if anyone has personal experience that would be cool. Took a tour of Wrigley that’s always fun. Weather has been tolerable, 75 to 80 but humid. I prefer visiting in October but this wasn’t my call.

maybe the veal chop at Piccolo Sogno?
Fantastic al fresco dinning on their patio this time of year. Great Italian food.
also recommend the Girl and Goat gastro pub. Get yourself a plate of duck tongues. No really.
and Oriole for an outrageous tasting menu, but reservations and a high limit credit card are required
tell Noah and his beautiful wife, Cara that I send my regards
Have you tried Lou Malnati's Pizza? Whatever you do, do not order extra cheese, it would be overkill
I always liked Gibson's for steak
Gibsons Italia is worth a try and has a spectacular location
RPM Steak is also a good place
Capital Grille is the best steak chain in town, good everywhere you find one, D.C., NYC, etc
if you're looking for large format steaks or a Wagyu flight, the new kid in town Swift and Sons is the place
I hope this helps
Chicago is a great food town where it's hard to go wrong
