The wife died of a rodent borne virus a week before he died. Hackman died of heart disease and Alzheimer’s. On an empty stomach. The body being found on the floor of home’s entry indicates it was a sudden death. Would have been much better to die in bed or his favorite chair. So he was in the same house with the body for a week. Clearly without the mental capacity to call for help. The dog was locked in a kennel, probably died of starvation. Rodent borne virus was not on my list. By the way, the wife Betsy, was a USC grad.
Guys, check on your elderly relatives for goodness sake. Being discovered weeks after your death should not happen. Even hateful narcissists who never built a family and wish ill on everyone deserve a more dignified end.
What bothers me is a dead body starts to smell quickly. A smell many say you never get over it.
I liked Hackman’s acting. He never annoyed me or came off as a try hard like Tom Hanks does. The last Hanks movie I watched was probably 25 years ago - he just annoys me too much.
Rodent born virus? Well wait. She had pills scattered everywhere. Ok so let’s think here. So she dies in the bathroom on 2/11 and Gene has Alzheimer’s and probably thinks she’s napping on the floor.
He had Alzheimer’s and a heart problem and also a pacemaker. So he probably wandered around for a week not knowing she was dead and further had no one to give him his medication.
His pacemaker reported a fib event 2/18 and that was the last event. So with no medication he survived a week. And then died oblivious. Likely a heart attack based on the fib event info. Probably had the attack and was headed out the front door and collapsed.
Sad for the dog. Trapped for a few days and then starved. Long time for no one to be in touch with then.
Rodent born virus? Like Covid started with a bat type thing?
