USC has a compllicated gambling finesse defense. It's designed for TFL , sacks, tricking quarterbacks into throwing picks. It gives up yards in exchange. It also loses contain and gives up huge plays. Kids get confused and it gives up even bigger plays. Coaches then blame the kids. Kids say it was their fault. wash rince repeat.

Works on paper. Worked for a short time like the beginning of last season.

Kids work on scheme not fundamentals. Too much stuff in their heads. More worried about being in the right place to make a play than actually tackling anyone.

Maybe it would work in the NFL, but College kids have only so much time.

It's too late to do anything about this season. Without Caleb this team would have already lost 2 or 3 games.

I have zero faith that CLR is going to do anything about it. Recruits don't want to play in it. Can't blame them.

The spark of life in USC football was Caleb Willliams, not CLR. Who it looks like was a good hire only because he brought Caleb Williams with him. sc

Think this is all right.

An unfortunate case where truth is indeed stranger then fiction.

Last years D was atrocious. This years is not any better.

Clearly its easy to game plan against. All teams thrive against it.

Its not effort. Its no longer talent. Its now clearly SCHEME. Thats on coaching.
