BIGGEST game of all the CCGs and our amazing leaders agreed to be relegated ro FR night.
Thats the thing. I would think Espn loved us.
We always sold our souls to fill a vacant time slot. Always. Pac after dark. TH nights. FR night CCG. Whatever espn asked. Should have been worth something...I can see why Fox looked at us as public enemy number 1. Actually gave espn a ton of options. Am I misreading this?
Its been on Friday night since its inception
P-12 was late to the party to hold a CCG after SEC started the trend for an extra TV revenue payday.
With multiple other CCG games already scheduled on TV Networks on Saturday....it was logical, to maximize viewership....to hold P-12 CCG it on a Friday.
I have no issues with it being on Friday nights. Have the night to ourselves, all eyeballs on us rather than splitting them with other games. And as arguably the biggest game left not including bowls, the winning team (either Washington or Oregon) will get a ton of great PR during the games on CCG Saturday.
UW is 2-0 in CCGs.
UO is 4-1 in CCGs.
Historically these are the two programs with the two best winning percentages in our conference's championship game.
Only 5 teams out of the 12 have ever won a CCG, 3 teams have never played in one, and 2 of those 3 no longer have a conference -- wonder why?
Should be a fun one and a GREAT way for the pac-12 conference and these two historic teams to go out, especially with a Heisman AND a playoff berth likely riding on the outcome.
Its always been on Friday night...
In the end though ESPN wanted nothing to do with the PAC once SC and UCLA left.
