Top earners by conference:
Big Ten: $46 million (Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Indiana)
SEC: $26 million (Texas, Georgia, Tennessee)
Independent: $20 million (Notre Dame)
ACC: $8 million (SMU, Clemson)
Big 12: $8 million (Arizona State)
Mountain West: $8 million (Boise State)
ND gets to keep it all and buy next years qb. Big winner
Big ten splits that about what 18 different ways?
B12 and Sec splits theirs 16 ways.
ACC is 17. No wonder, Clemson and Florida State want out. 2/3 of the conference has no chance ever ever ever. That puts a lot of pressure on Miami Clemson Florida state to produce year after year.
This is assuming they all have equitable splits. Schools like Purdue and Vanderbilt and West Virginia are laughing their butts off, not having to do any extra work or spend any extra money and collecting a check. I don’t get that Bunch of socialists. Should be like Notre Dame. Where their leader and religion all talks about communism and socialism. And then they just act like greedy capitalists
It would appear the big loser or losers this year would be the ACC and big 12. Both present themselves as power five conferences and wound up with just as much money as the mountain west. And looking at those three conferences, it would appear that if the rules are the same as most of the others each conference member took home a half $1 million. You used to get more than that from the freedom bowl
The big winner is Notre Dame pocketing 20 million
The SEC teams look like they get to take home about 1.5 million each
The Big Ten teams look like they get about 2.5 million each
So for all the chest beating on a per school basis, there’s not a whole lot of difference in revenue. If Michigan feels like they fell behind they just have to get a hold of Larry Ellison‘s wife and she’ll write a check. If Oregon feels behind Phil Knight can write million dollar checks in his sleep
They could always get a hold of USC’s NIL if they need money, they can scrounge through the seat cushions and come up with a million of $10 off coupons for Dr. Dre headphones
Hey Java, does that 46 million reflect any of the dollars that the pac 12 gets due to their obligation with the rose bowl for the next two years? I read it was like 100 million total.
I take it that you missed MF's comment re taking a portal QB for next season.
With ND it's feast or famine. With Marcus Freeman I think it will be mostly feast.
