That he would have sat on the bench for 3 years just to the backup his whole career.
Really with the portal. I think and this is just an opinion, that LR knows what he has in Moss and that he definitely encouraged him to stay because he was going to be given every opportunity to win the nod when CW left. And when CW skipped the bowl game
It was opportunity time. Can you imagine the pressure on Moss. If he failed, then he really wasted three years sitting on the bench. That's pressure. And ha passed with flying colors. And now people are nitpicking on his performance. OMG
It was an incredible game for Moss. First time as a starter. A depleted roster. He came in and made play after play following Riley's scripted plays perfectly. Yes, the receivers made some great catches on imperfect passes, but he also made some great throws downfield and had some drops. It was a great game for him.
But he needs to do it again and again and again next season. One game does not make a great QB. I fully expect him to work hard, come back and display the same leadership, playmaking and "management" we saw in the Holiday Bowl game. He's a very likable dude, and I hope he continues to progress as a QB. He demonstrates commitment and honor as a real Trojan.
Wish we had more players like him, but let's not annoint him yet as the second coming of Hector. That's yahoo, 24/7, bleacher report, fansided, SI gossip crap from the media written for 3rd graders. The kind of shit that makes me sick.
yes. Moss isn't Dart or even Slovis. He went to USC because he wanted to actually go to school at USC.
I think he would have stayed , and will stay if he gets beat out. I don't think he sees is as you do that he wasted anything. sc
you really need to develop a more skeptical eye. Frankly, I don't think Louisville was that enthused about playing USC on what was essentially a home field for the trojans. Louisville probably deserved a better bowl game than the Holiday bowl.
Moss did good and I was actually the first on the board to advocate for him being the starter next season, but speaking honestly, a lot of his passes don't work against a better defense, so again you guys need to pump the brakes on what his ceiling is. He will get named the starter next year, but the key point is whether he can hold onto the job or not. That was secretly probably LR's selling point to the UNLV qb. Whatever was told to that kid, it was one of the shrewd things LR has done the last 2 years to get a kid to flip from a NC caliber team to a USC that will be lucky to exceed 0.500 next year.
Get to the meat ...he needs to compete for the job and I don't care if he's been there forever or if he threatens to leave or not...competition is what USC needs at every position...and whether you like it or not...his passes were not on the button on every throw but for great catches by Taj and the kids..
