Bad look. NFL looks for character, and this guy will sit out if he's not 100% healthy and will dog it in the last year of his contract. Or take it easy if hie team is 5-9.
I disagree with my friend LA Duck. Sitting out is bullshit. Maybe you do that in an individual sport but not in a team sport. I was pissed off when someone started the trend of sitting out a bowl game to avoid getting hurt. This is so much worse because it's so arbitrary. What's the standard? One loss I keep playing, two losses I'm out? If he was so concerned about the risk of injury, he should have declared for the draft last year or just spent this year with a private trainer.
I agree with only part of your take on bowl games. I think second- and third- level bowl games are meaningless for teams that had legitimate championship aspirations; but they're not meaningless if you play for Cincinnati or Wazzu. At the same time, there are far too many of them. A bowl game should be a reward for a solid season, not 6-6.
Ha! Yes, you definitely had the view from owner's suite vs the knothole gang that we quacks were back then! Perspective is everything.
I have absolutely NO idea what it's like to earn a crystal football in college football, but hoping to some day find out before I die. You Trojans have, what, 11 now? Crazy.... Must be nice!!
BTW one of my fav nicknames is from an old Cal Bears site of some guy named WantARoseBowlBeforeIDie.
That's sorta how I felt in the 1980s with Oregon.
Maybe my new nick on here should be WantACrystalFootballBeforeIDie....
Honestly hope it happens for you and the Ducks as much as I despise Chinese puppet Phil Knight.
As for the 11. Im no spring chicken and I only know the Pete Carroll 2. Beating Texas would have been 3. Most forget or dont realize that. Let alone a couple of other missed opportunities with him.
That's too bad. Maye gave us quacks all we could handle in our 28-27 win over him in the Holiday Bowl last year. Thought at the time he'd be more of a Heisman contender this year than he has.

BS info.
A few ideas.
Not too long ago kids would get insurance policies. Schools should pay for these.
The NFL uses college football as it's free minor league.
NFL should pass a draft rule that any kid that pulls this shit is not eligible for the first round.
Kid should be marched off campus and asked to never return. sc
Make him pay back his scholi; NIL should cover it.
How many hits can CFB take?
Now the stars wont play the whole season? Lol

Will Caleb follow suit?
