7 REALLY COSTLY penalties. Undisciplined shitstains. The last drive was garbage time rushing stats. Why throw the jump balls on 4th down and 3? Why run on 3rd and 10 with the 3rd string kid. Why a shotgun from the 1 foot?
USC played well, but 2 costly TO ( 2 pick 6 IT's killed any chance of an upset win = 14 pts) Otherwise the score would have been 35 -35 go into OT. ND RB Love was hurt at that time. Who knows what would have happend in OT?
USC was without RB Woody for almost 3 qts, C. LR had to play reserves who are not good pass receivers. C. LR had to make major adjustments on O. I think USC loss 10 pts W/O Woody. With Woody 45-35 USC wins.
ND were getting killed on passing plays, so C. LR rode with that passing 49 times. Plus, no RB Woody. Our D did pretty good against ND physical run game. But dam, our Wr's do not play hard for 4 qt's, run lazy routes, do not block well. Wr's that play hard are M. Lemon, Hudson, Ford. And, saw at least 4 drops, man these guys have got to develop stronger hands, body control, conditioning, speed and route running. USC are getting 4 top Wr's next year and that should give the passing game a big boost.
QB1 Maiava must get better in accuracy and arm strength, but the Wr's must help him out. No QB is perfect, Wr's must make tuff catches and block well for the run game.
Nah, I'm proud of the way the team played yesterday.
Lastly, I feel Notre Dame does not belong in the 12 team CFP. Ole Miss should move into their spot. Yeah, ND 10-1 record was due to their weak schedule. Saw it big time yesterday.
Maybe he just looks at "total yards" at the end of the night and figures he won.
I'm half-serious. Offensive football geeks think that's their only job, even as a head coach, and they just don't really care all that much about the other "little" things.
Sincerely,
Chip Kelly
P.S. That doesn't fully explain Riley's insistence on not effectively using one of the best RBs in the B1G, which certainly Fatty would have done, but I guess CLR figures you don't get gawdy offensive numbers unless you pass -- a lot.

Best rushing attack in the B10, and we throw it 49x
I posted those stats before…Riley’s offense was at it’s best when he ran 55-60% of the time, and at its worst when he throws it 65% of the time.
Stubborn MFer.
