speed especially at WR. Questioned the overall intensity. Bunch of dudes sitting on the sideline. was Questioning if this is Hugs ceiling after 6 years?

I bet he’s happier tonight.

Yeah the pass 30 to net 3 is a REAL issue with this O. high Risk low reward. just lame

I don't think it's the offense, but it clearly is the execution of it. We have seen this offense be highly explosive around the country and USC has the athletes to run it. But when you see a handoff on a critical 3rd and 3 play where the RB runs right into the QB? When you see guys running around trying to get lined up late? Trust me. In person it was ugly. And what was hard was hearing all the idiots in the stands. I mean YOU people are stupid? My gosh the people in the stands "yeah that is really smart Helton, way to go. you have 3rd and 8 and you throw it to the running back. Wow. Brilliant"

And I feel like telling them but I don't. I mean, this offense has checks and checkdowns. you look deep first, then scan the field. you check down to the middle and then your outlet is the RB. you just hope he can get some yards or make something happen. It's not that the idiot coach called a 3 yard pass. It's the progression of reads. But the loud drunk armchair coaches in the stands really made fools of themselves. Unfortunately I don't think most fans know any better and it's just mob mentality

That was my conclusion as to WR after game 1. I didn't think they were anything special. Also felt Slovis missed them a lot in Game 2 and wasn't sure whose fault it was.

They ran from under center a few times. That was promising. I felt USC was not efficient. The yardage was close throughout the game. Yet Stanford kept pulling away. Why? Penalties. Inefficiency. Turnovers.

I also felt early on Stanford took away the USC deep middle and deep out game and USC just gave up on it. Not sure why. Maybe no time in pocket. But I felt that Stanford was doing to USC what USC did to Drew Breese during Purdue's game out here. Making the offense horizontal not vertical. I felt like USC would pass the ball 30 yards to gain 3. Just what Purdue was doing

@Java the secondary was the weakness not the offense so much. They bit on play action at times and were out of position in the cover 3 zone. Obvious to anyone that knows football. The SC O-line gave Slovis plenty of time that was not an issue.

@rwc1952 The offense scored 13 points in 3 quarters. They reached the red zone 3 times. 2 of them resulted in FG and once USC was inside the 3. That's inefficient. That's absolutely offense. I didn't think the backs were bad. I thought Slovis and his WR were. I don't really care, they are all part of the offense. So to say the offense was not the problem is absolutely false. There were a lot of problems.
