He isn't the only one perpetuating the insane dollars being tosses around. Just like our worthless government, these TV networks are overspending as well. So why not ask for the cash?
I'm no Utah fan by the way. Obviously their brand doesn't deserve $50 million but why not ask given the insane world we are living in.
Let's just accelerate the move to a super league of 40 or 48 teams. It's inevitable.
SC made the right move, but let's be honest, the cross country travel is gonna be silly and will remove any semblance left of these players being students. The travel costs are also going to be insane when you look across all sports. The airlines aren't passing out many sponsorships or deals, I can assure you.
A super league with western and eastern conferences is inevitable.
As for the Utah president, who really cares. These tv networks seem to be raking it in so why not go for the gold.
I said the airlines aren't going to fund every team. Yes, SC gets some in-kind flight discounts. And having worked with pro sports teams, any sponsorship from the airline doesn't mean free charters for all teams.
There aren't enough airlines to willing to do charters for advertising impressions based on the new Big 10, Big 12 ans ACC. A day of reckoning is coming and it will be a super league.
How in the world did the prez of such crap schools like asu and utah come to be wielding such power behind the scenes. They have zero history, bring in zero money, yet they are the power players who inevitably are making decisions for the conference. pretty f'd up imo.
Same reason why the country is broke. Free money to be had everywhere it seems. Utah President is just another greedy, financially illiterate public official.
