You should be troubled that Uncle Phil's money doesn't register as a real threat to Bama. He thinks the ducks are wannabes; USC is the threat, even tho it's clear that USC isn't going all out on the NIL front. Just wait until you're scheduling Boise on a yearly basis.
Saban doesn't give a shet about Oregon....he knows that the folks that donate cash don't give a shet about the Ducks either...but bring up USC ..and that is a different story..
It’s extremely arrogant and very Trojan like of you to speak the truth, stating something that anyone with any common sense would’ve realized when Nick made that statement. Why didn’t he go after Louisville (the other U of Shoe)? Why not Miami? Ducks are obviously doing better than those two, however, quack attack is now stuck in a shit conference. Anyone seriously think they’re going to be a national threat while wallowing in the pac10? 😂 …. Saint Nick does need to chill though. He’s still bitter that one of his NIL revenue streams got popped.
Go read the post I put up on Musing from Arledge....he pretty much discusses NIL and Oregon and their cash seems to be a topic but as he explains why Saban didn't mention the Ducks was on point...
Coaches may have a buyout clause but believe me they come out wwwwaaaayyyy ahead with their new contracts. When coaches are held to their contracts until it is up then I will agree to making players sit out a year but not til then.
I would amend my suggestion that a player may transfer once without penalty if either their head coach or position coach leaves the program after letter of intent day.
does that sound reasonable?
We simply can't have the current mess. There has to be some rules. sc
While I agree with Saban and will say that we need parity in NIL (plus more restraints on the transfer portal) even if it adversely affects Oregon's recruiting, this is too frickin' funny. NOTHING better than some sweet, delicious irony in the morning hours.
Seems like everything we quacks hear from many of you Trojan fans is all about how Oregon is only winning recruiting battles with USC by playing the NIL $$$$ game, and poor USC is sitting on the sidelines way too proud of a program to do what Oregon is doing re NIL $$$$....
Just curious, if USC and Oregon are playing the same game, what's the new Trojan excuse now for Oregon winning many of those recruiting battles? Or is Saban simply lying?
Which is it, Trojan fans? Looks like some of you Trojans just got SANDUSKIED by perhaps the greatest college football coach of all time.
LA Duck is completely obsessed with USC. It’s all he talks about here, check the search. Always how the Ducks can be or are just like USC. Always bashing USC fans…. He wants to be “in the club” so badly 😂
Notre Dame had it right almost 100 years ago. They would pay local men to play on the football team and they weren’t enrolled in school. Others got a degree out of it. There was never any reason to force football players to be enrolled. Football games were for the students’ and fans’ enjoyment.
There is no fix for the NIL mess. Too many ways to get money to the kids programs want.
Some Kids have always been paid. It's just now out in the open. Most Kids have never been real college students , it's just now out in the open.
College athletes is revenue generating sports will all become employees of the University. Kids can get a free education and live on campus if they want, or not.
the HUGE problem here will be worker's comp, especially in Kalifornia.
As far as the transfer portal goes. They should reinstitute the rule that if you transfer you have to sit out a year. That will clean up some NIL stuff too. sc

With today's haul we figured something out it seems. But it's still not signees yet, late cash could still talk, who knows?

Talk about the kettle calling the pot black
If coaches can transfer penalty free players deserve to at least once.

Thanks for the Friday chuckle, TEE.
He fears USC the most, just like Oregon does. It's why Oregon uses NIL for direct recruiting. USC has avoided it so far, e.g. Conerly and Pleasant.
If Saban calls you out, wow. That is like Hunter Biden telling someone he is concerned about their drug problem.
Mostly agree. No putting the genie back in the bottle. If the NCAA tries to rein in the dollars they will be facing a major class action suit.
I think you should get a free transfer, but after that I agree the player needs to sit. The current situation is ridiculous.

His complaint would carry more water if he called out Texas and A&M. Oh wait those are sec teams. The sec would never rig a system for its benefit...
