Sorry BGV, disagree on your Smigiel's # 1 rankings. Seen him play 3 times now, he is an average 4*. He does not run well, not good when protection breaks down, plays sloppy at times (makes stupid mistakes), do not like his leadership, for a big guy, arm strength only = 8, does not have all the throws, lazy footwork in the pocket and has a hitch in his throwing motion. For Smigiel make it in D-1, that team had better have an A+ OL protection.

The recruiting services are goo goo over his prolific passing stats, Newbury Park pass a lot. He has Xlent Wr's. His accuracy is OK, about 62%. Note: Newbury Park plays weak teams and in a below average league (Conejo Coast).

Heck, his Ace Wr Shane Rosenthal bailed him out so many times on bad throws. Shoot, Rosenthal was the man on that team. He makes my 5*. He is one of the best Wr from the CIF, top 10 in history. I've never seen SR drop a pass yet, catches everything. At 5-11, SR played like he was 6-2, A+ leaping ability. This guy is an Affholter clone, but more athletic & faster. Schools have made a huge mistake not recruiting this kid.
