My wife has reminded me like every time I complain about it. “Told you you should have bought it when the place went on the market for $275,000. Now the dirt alone is worth twice that or more”. I’m like shut up.

Couple times guys have wandered around on the roof. Hung out. Partied. Some show up to fish. One a hole literally shows up. Starts fishing over there and I kid you not. Starts a dialogue with me about what I “should” do as I’m hosing off the bird stuff and cobwebs from my house. This squatter fishing guy has all sorts of suggestions about what I should be doing as it relates to cleaning up the back of my house apparently. Thought about calling security on him but next I turned around he was gone

But yeah. This has to be a 3500-4500 sf house halfway built. All wood exposed. And going on years. Three other houses on the same street started construction from November through February and all three are just finishing up now. Thinking about calling the association, but their history is so hush-hush that they would not even tell you any details about what they know of a crime were committed against you. Like if they had been called to the suspect house. 15 times? They won’t tell you for fear of violating this guys rights. For me that makes quite a difference as to whether I want to press charges on someone.

Good example is about seven years ago my wife’s brand new eight week old nine week old yellow fluff lab got torn apart in our front yard by two German Shepherd, who broke leash. The lady walking them yelled at me because the puppy wasn’t on a leash. I was like hey Jack ass . He was in my yard. Doesn’t need to be. You’ve got vicious dogs and can’t control them. When I called association security, they sent Paul Blart out who earnestly took a report and wrote down everything I said..Looked very concerned and said hmmmm a lot. When I called animal control, they said this was the sixth time they had had an incident regarding these dogs, and this family and that the association had more calls than they did. And then they asked me if the association had told me about all the calls. Nope. I asked animal control why nothing had happened on the previous 5-6 to them. They explained because it’s like an arrest. Someone needs to file a complaint. Write it all out. And be willing to show up to court and testify. And that’s a big hassle for most people. I said I’ll do it. Sounds like these dogs are dangerous. So I did and before I showed up they pled guilty etc.

Point being the association does more to protect the guilty. If I knew they were going after this neighbor and assessing or attaching liens or suing him? I’d probably just let it play out. Now I’m wondering what $5,000 tossed to a local lawyer might get me

Might be too late to buy it and have it make any financial sense. You would have to complete it or tear it down. Maybe, if you complete it, one of your kids will come back to the nest and want to live next door. Clearly something is wrong though for it to take this long. I’m surprised the HOA isn’t on the guy with fines. I have been trying to buy the lot next to my house in Arrowhead for the last 12 years. They won’t sell despite my aggressive offers. Just sits there vacant and the city has to do the wild brush abatement every year. You can’t fix stupid. Actually you can fix stupid but it’s gonna hurt. Too bad about your wife’s dog being attacked. I didn’t know German shepherd were vicious like that.

I missed your post. Lots of red flags with this guy. Only way to make his behavior worse is to give him millions of dollars.

He and his brother were on line a few months ago, walking daddy Deon through a mansion they bought for him. Was that all fake? Was he pretending to give daddy a mansion and spending someone else’s money?

Or did they give daddy Deon a mansion and make daddy pay for it? That’s pretty funny. That’s like giving someone a new car and them finding out they’ve got payments for the next 72 months.Lol
