I don't necessarily agree. I think Oregon state is a solid team, but it's difficult to contain Washington's offense. I think Oregon State has shown that they're pretty disciplined on both sides of the ball. I think Smith has done a pretty darn good job.
Every year, UCLA has an inexplicable and unforgivable loss. Last year it was Arizona (they weren't good last year, and UCLA kinda was). This year it was Arizona State, not Arizona. If you think about it, the loss to Oregon State this year wasn't bad either. The Utah loss was, well, not so good. But the Utes still had a good defense, at least then.
So, if UCLA had beaten the shit out of ASU like everyone else did, Chip wouldn't look like such a dick. But the Bruins didn't even show up AT HOME, and Chip called a game like he was a first-time high school freshman JV coach. Hell, he even took the blame for it, which he never does. He should be fired for that game alone. Seriously. Inexcusable.
The reason he needs to go is because this is never going to get fixed. Next year the Bruins will get pummeled by Penn State and Oregon and LSU, which will be expected. They'll probably beat a couple of teams that are okay but not that good. But they will lose to some teams that they have no business losing to, like Minnesota or some other shitass program. And that is not going to change as long as he's head coach.
He'll be gone after next season for sure. He thinks he can outsmart everyone by not recruiting and finding guys in the portal. He's lucky that Latu fell in his lap.
Chip's idea of recruiting is to meet with the player and his parents for about an hour on official visits and maybe do a home visit. He offers the scholarship and hopes they accept. That's it. That's all he does. He's so lazy it's a joke.

confused. Is Chip resigning?
