They are gonna give up a lot of points. But this is a team that had 3 penalties on the first team last game. and this game had 4. 2 PI, a hold on the last drive. and something else. So. Not a lot given the pace and the speed.
This is a lightning fast team. They don't use the clock and they are fast when the play starts.
Their D is playing an NFL QB and gave up 14 points. Stanford unleashed a new scheme. No film. Pretty surprising. Good for them. Playing at home. Got ball first. And still scored 14.
Their D is similar to PC early D's. Little small. Little weak straight up. So you blitz. Mix coverages. Take chances. Stop the opponent every two possessions. Give up 30 points. And watch Caleb and company score 50 and win by two TD.
It is what it is. They are very entertaining. Both directions. Their O doesn't look like they make mistakes. They don't drop passes. They don't over throw people. Their pass protection doesn't break down. They don't commit penalties. When Stanford keeps Williams in the pocket he goes lateral to his secondaries and they have open space. Occasionally he reads them well and gashes them up the middle with a Dye run. So many weapons. Williams didn't even need to take off and run after the first possession. And USC didn't face a 3D until last drive when they were sitting on ball.
USC keeps or expands this lead and they will be ranked Top 6-7 heading into the Fresno game. Fresno, OSU ASU and WSU all will be challenges. But not up to the task. But better than patsies. Playing at Utah is gonna be beastly.
