Rumors/ Rumblings/ Talks:
Big 12 will add 1-3 more. If only one PAC team it will be AZ. If no PAC teams it will be UConn. If Ducks/ Dub want in they will go to 16. ASU and Utah have no interest at this time . They still believe the PAC will survive.
UW Brass are pissed at George for stringing this along for a year and having CU bolt due to his bumbling. George is out of his league. UW still has hope the Big ten will come calling. Hoping ACC teams are GOR locked up and big ten will bail them out.
For the Ducks, pretty quiet, other than they have had conversations with Yormack. Some minor ACC talk, which is pretty meaningless. Yormack won't turn down Ducks or Dub and know that the PAC is basically done at that point. There is no media money for the big 12 to go beyond 16. ASU and Utah OSU and WSU go to Mtn west.
Maybe big 10 throws Furd and Cal a bone at that point and pay them a third of the pie. Gives SC/.Bruins travel partners. And big ten locks up the whole State.
Fluid.
Typical PAC still hoping somehow somewhere the PAC will survive and all will be good with the exact opposite staring them in the face. Oregon and UW should be jumping up and down to get into the Big12 looking at their other options right now...Utah as I predicted is being led by a moron who couldn't see the handwriting on the wall and will fall into obscurity based on their hardliner attitude with the Big 12 not being academic enough for them...
rumor I heard yesterday on espn radio is that the BIG will offer Stanford/Cal next. I think they went after stanford once to get notre dame. my prediction is that Stanford goes independent.
BIG doesn't want to add non-academic schools. Washington is geographically undesireable.
remember I don't start rumors, I just spread them. sc
B1G commish is publicly on the record as saying his mandate from university presidents is to focus on integrating USC and UCLA and nothing more.
