Wonder where the other 2400 are from. Are there schools not fbs or fcs? Aren’t d2 schools like Mercer or Jackson state fcs? What would be left? Something like Redlands or Azusa?
Good post Pasadena. Reality check with the inequalites of current college sports. The top players get the money, free scholarships. The average players get some scholarships and little money. The below average players get almost nothing and suffer. This sheet needs some kind of regulation, cause the free market (financial dealings) is killing college sports. Sad.
Ballss, I think we do need some kind of reasonable regulations for college FB and sports. Right now things (WW free market + liberal TP rules) are out of control. The rich NIL schools are reaping all the best and top players, almost like a monopoly (Oregon, Ohio St, Bama, UGA, Texas, Tx AM, ND, Michigan, OU, Miami, Auburn). Bad, players can transfer anytime and play for the new school instantly. This area needs to be regulated big time. Looks like the NCAA does not have policing power anymore?
Hell, Gov have anti trust laws to control monopoly business practices. It seems to work pretty darn good. It provides for healthy competition for the smaller guys and keeps prices down.
College sports is no longer about Student Athletes getting an education. College sports = Pro sports and farming system to the NFL, NBA, WNBA,. I do not like the current state of college sports. Top players are only motivated getting big finanacial deals and pay outs. The average players not so much. NIL collectives or risch boosters do not care about them.
So, are you statisfied with how things are in college sports? What's your fix?
A lot of these kids were processed PT.
