Isn't Athlon's supposed to know this shit? Read this article, dated December 9. 2024:

Yeah, sometimes Athlon is inaccurate with their analysis of a team. Most of the time they do a good job. Tough to be right with every team in the NCAA.

The one guy I can't stomach is 247, HS recruiting guru and now TV annoucer Greg Biggins. He makes bad reviews on players a lot and watching him on TV is hard to watch. He has this mouth movement, like there's something in his mouth. Kinda gross.

Well, there's inaccurate and then there's just completely incompetent.

I wouldn't expect this guy to know much about USC or any other team that he may not follow closely at all, but c'mon, this is just lazy writing. If the writer had done even a little bit of his homework, how could he not know that Ford and Greedy and those other guys were part of the last cycle of transfers in the portal? It's like he copied and pasted that info from somebody else's article that was written months ago, without even bothering to look at the date it was reported.

It's been said that sports writing is the toy department of journalism, so maybe this isn't that important in the scheme of things. But this is ridiculous. Do your job.

I guess that's what happens when you have 15,000,000 "news" outlets spread across cyberspace.
