This was a stupid idea. He doesn't have the personnel nor the bulk to run a 3 man line. You need All conference/all american players at all 3 positions (look back to the latel 80s when usc ran a true 3-4 and who they had on the LOS. They also had a guy named Seau playing OLB/rush end when dialed up. You need a LOT of proven talent to do this. This team and DC aren't close.

Look, USC was screwed no matter what they did last night, but you HAVE TO STOP THE RUN. Sans that, you might as well just call the game and go home. CW and crew, as I said, weren't going to be able to keep up once they fell behind.

USC needed to secure the LOS and on passing downs force the ball out quick and short, and make the tackles ahead of the sticks. They didn't even try this. They faked it a few times but weren't committed to it, just like Riley, as I predicted, quit running the ball in the 2nd half. This dumbass doesn't understand that he doesn't have the O on the field and therefore he needed to drastically shorten the game to stay in it. That means running the ball, which USC was doing well even without their best RB.

For those of you who have doubted me when I tell you Riley isn't that bright and isn't up to the job, mentally, physically or schematically, last night was a confirmation.

Next week will be a demolition. Don't let your kids watch.

BTW there was an obvious hold on the RT on that 53 yd run on the game sealing drive. Funny how usc loses another td on a hold, but UDub's got conveniently missed (not that it would have mattered imo). This season can't end soon enough. USC needs to skip their bowl game and get to the business of getting a real coaching staff.

Exactly right. We have undersized DL and LBers. Utah and Washington just bulldozed us.

Washington is a passing team. When they saw our scheme and personnel they adjusted and took what D gave us. Thats situational coaching and CLR and Grinch are not good at it.

Bear is our best defender. He is causing alot of disruption at point of attack. So teams just run around/away from him. And it works. Every time. Our DE play is really poor but still not as bad as our LBer play.
