Remember several years ago when some of us said the talent would shift from California to the South when families would move out of that state?
Well Texas and Florida are always strong, but are getting stonger. Now, Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana are right there with California.
The shift is noticeable now, and this will hurt SC in the long term.
On300:
Texas 54
Florida 44
Georgia 32
California 22
Alabama 17
Louisiana 15

SC has always donewell out of state and out of conference
with the right staff of course

I think it tracks with the reduced number of kids that are going out for football. The wuz generation will be known for what they didn;t do.
it always amazes me that a place with a huge population of New York state, 20 million people , never generates jack shit. sc
Simple solution USC will recruit more out of state. And we are already doing this. The move to the Big 10 will only make it easier.
Totally remember you and I brining this up several years ago. CA Demographics changing and just not a lot of big bodies here. We'll still produce QB's, WR's, and DB's. But linemen and LB's are going to be scarce.
DC
11 of 20 HS USC recruits this year are from outside California and 9 of 11 portal dudes.
A good reason to have a HC that comes from, or near, the more talent rich areas. Wait til soccer becomes a major college sport, then the California schools can brag about the talent again lol
Nothing is static. The rust belt grew after the civil war (for obvious reasons). The west grew demonstrably after WWII, at expense of the south, midwest and rust belt. It's CA's turn to take the hit.
Louisiana is underrated. IMHO....Arizona might be as well.
Little brown and little yellow people are not good at football. Thank you captain obvious. Can anyone here tackle?
