Seems like it's coming down to a three-horse race: Boise State's RB plus Miami's and Oregon's QBs.
Can't deny Cam Ward is putting up video game numbers because of Cristobal's poor defense at Miami. On the other hand they haven't really played anyone yet. Everyone they've played so far or will play all have 3+ losses except for upcoming games with 1-loss Syracuse and Duke. Can he close out 12-0?
Gotta love the Barry Sanders-like Jeanty at Boise State. Crazy good. But do you give the Heisman to a running back on a team playing mainly MWC teams? His one game vs a Power 4 team they lost.
Dillon Gabriel isn't putting up numbers quite like Cam Ward. But if he gets through the B1G season unscathed, plus no clunker games, I think that sets him up with a very solid portfolio to win it all.
Got to add Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss. He is ranked 2nd in T O (367 ypg), slighty back to # 1 Cam Ward stats, 389 ypg. Dart is putting up big O stats passing and running vs Ward 98% passing.
Prior to last week, Bama's QB Jalen Milroe was one of the favorites, he's out of the race. He had a bad game in their loss to Tenn. He had 2 IT, could have easily been 3, the DB dropped the ball. Noticed Milroe hardly ran? How come, was it coaches decision? Running the ball is Milroe's strength.
Dillon Gabriel is ranked 11th in T O, 313 ypg, how is he a favorite?
