Yes as far as big time recruits you’re probably right. I was going to throw in Josh Rosen and all everything Ben Olsen both 5* with Ben coming in as a transfer but both guys were a bust.

Despite all this UCLA has always been outstanding at the QB and RB position that isn’t the problem. The defense over the years is the reason they aren’t winning championships IMHO.

UCLA had some lean years at QB - Paus, Ben Olson, Drew Olson (bad for 3 yrs), Brehaut. Craft, Prince.

Dorrell picked D. Olson over Moore and Moore ended up having an NFL career. JP Losman was a true big-time recruit but he bailed after 2 days. Rosen didn’t live up to the hype but he was way better than guys like Prince and Brehaut.

True how could I forget Prince, Craft and Paus those were some lean years. In fairness to Prince and Craft they played behind terrible O - lines

I would’ve taken Palmer in a second. Deshon Foster and Palmer in the same class would’ve been huge.

I know. I'm just busting your balls. The only game Palmer lost to the Bruins was his freshman year, and it was still really evident he was going to be an excellent QB in college.

Incidentally, I do find it funny how you guys make fun of DTR for having been at UCLA forever. In reality, if you include his upcoming bowl game, he will have appeared in 49 games as a Bruin. Carson Palmer appeared in 53 games as a Trojan. I will be pointing that out again when it comes up, which it will.
