Does he have any connection to USC? Let’s not forget that sending players to USC is a ver6 important job for a MD coach. I had read Lenny Vandermade or Khaled Holmes would get the gig.

Does it matter? USC has their pick of who they want out of MD, as well as Serra.

That might change with the new guy, but it won't if the Bruins don't improve their recruiting approach. Even then, they still have to win their share of games, regardless of who's coaching at any of the top high schools in the region. Kids will not want to play for a program that hasn't proven it can be above average more often than every few years.
