Hows your runningback doing? Kinda dumb running him when your QB could have taken a knee instead and getting him injured with very little time on the clock. The guy is kinda important to your offense
Johnson is good to go. His foot got stepped on in (I think) the Utah game and it has just been a nagging soreness that he is playing through ever since. Scans this past week showed nothing out of the ordinary. We will see how good he looks is all we can do. Here is a clip of Johnson from today as the team was heading out:
Your second point, you don't predict injuries, especially with that clock stoppage rule (that I read will get a lot of attention in the upcoming meetings). It was 3rd down and you can end the game right there. Take a knee, and you still must punt on 4th down. And many bad things can happen on a punt. Errant snap. Mis-handled snap. Block. Bad shank. Even if TX had a chance to field that punt, there is that possibilty of a return for a TD. Punting is far from a sure thing, especially when you have a RB that does not fumble and don't 'expect' an injury.
I have witnessed hundreds of times a team running a play to set up for a FG. I have never seen a team run a play to set up for a punt.
One thing for sure Penix is one smooth QB. Most accurate passer I've seen in years.
