Thank you. Your second sentence is exactly my point. I'm not saying Oregon wouldn't be there with a 9-0 record. Just that overall you'll have more opportunities to get in to the dance in the B1G or SEC vs other conferences.

Sure, at 9-0 in the Big 12 with "big" wins over Colorado, Utah, BYU and Oklahoma State (let's say), Oregon would probably be ranked number 7 or 8 in the nation behind a number of one-loss teams.

If Oregon went on to lose in a CCG rematch to BYU, do they get a Top 12 finish + playoff berth? Possibly but not certain. If they lose to tOSU in a rematch in the CCG, ducks are still dancing, and maybe as high as a five seed.

That's what the B1G gets you. A chance to play AND BEAT the best. And if you lose, a loss likely won't hurt your chances as much. TEE has long promoted the belief that Oregon should have gone to the Big 12 instead.

The margin for error is greater in a super conference like the SEC or B1G in a 12-team playoff. That's EXACTLY why it was key to Oregon's future to tag along with USC and UCLA.

Not so sure about your first point. I don't even know how they determine playoff teams (how do they?), but there are always going to be 10-2 and 9-3 teams in the B1G and SEC that miss the playoffs, and yet these same teams would beat the shit out of some ACC or Big 12 teams that DO make the playoffs. There's never going to be an equitable way to form a bracket, but Oregon would go 12-0 EVERY year if they played in one of those shittier conferences.

I think that was basically TEE's point - be in a conference where you will dominate most years and get to the playoffs routinely vs be in a conference with better competition, but more opportunities to make the Top 12.

For many reasons besides this one in my opinion it just makes much more sense to play with the big dogs in one of the biggest yards going forward.

UW went to the title game last season. Also, incorporating a new coach, new QB and roster overhaul. The fact they even this good is a testament to Fisch.

USC and ucla are in for a few rough seasons it seems.

I know all about UDub regrouping after C. Deboer left and many players bailed. Yep, C. Fisch is a top HC and will get UDub back up there. I say it will take him 2 good years of recruiting HS and the TP. Wish we had him at USC instead of C. LR.

I can't comment on USC and Riley as you and other Trojans can, because you follow the team more closely. But UCLA should absolutely be doing better in the B1G this year than they are. And that's because they've had an excellent headstart in sucking, a headstart that started long before they joined the B1G. A.D. Jar Jar and Chancellor Blockhead laid the foundation for the shit we see today.

There are any number of UCLA teams even this century that would be doing better than the Bruins of today under the same circumstances -- certainly some Mora teams, possibly even some Dorrell teams. DTR and Charbonnet masked a lot of problems for some Chip Kelly teams, but even they might be doing better because Kelly usually knows how to score points.

But Jar Jar fucked up UCLA royally by allowing Chip Kelly to hold the team hostage (and not recruiting for shit), and then hiring a completely unqualified head coach in Foster sealed UCLA's fate. So, yes, UCLA is in for a few rought seasons, but that could have been avoided with proper leadership instead of the shitheads we have running the show.

Very good chance Bama loses to LSU. Yep, if they lose no chance for CFP. QB Milroe has regressed + he's not running as much. How come and why? Also, Bama's D is average (DB's are young and the weak link). Bama had a bye week, let's see if C. Deboer fixed things and call more running plays for Milroe for the LSU game. Milroe is the best running QB in college FB, makes no sense not utilize his legs and speed.

Brad, asked you what HS you played for and what years. Curious. The HS I mention were great FB programs/teams; they were well coached. It would be fun to go back and talk old times FB. Cheers.
