This guy calls Lanning out and has some accurate takes on PAC

Lanning comes off weak and childish here, but who really cares? Still, no reason for him to immaturely degrade Colorado like that. It wasn't his battle, but he likes to squawk.

Colorado is a shiny novelty now under Primetime. They left the eternally aimless Pac 9 as a low-rung-run operation with an unlikely massive energy jolt, looking for a better deal, which is precisely what they got.

Oregon and Washington will probably eventually land in the Big Ten at the kid's table for less money when their prayed-for rescue mission arrives. The money and reduced exposure available to the Pac leftovers will never be good enough.

USC indeed killed the Pac. Too bad because it never had to be this way. Just way too much Pac stupidity, jealousy, and insulation all over the place to keep floating with the big boys.

The PAC committed suicide by telling Texas that they had to share the Longhorn Network revenue with the PAC ($15mm/yr from ESPN). This was shortly after the PAC poisoned their own well by failing to defend USC during an agent tampering witchhunt which was the first (and last) of its kind in NCAA history.

That demand for the Longhorn Network killed a deal that would have added Texas, OU, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State to the PAC. At the time, they were the cream of the Big 12. The PAC even tried to model the PAC Network after the Longhorn Network, no lie. Except the morons partnered with Comcast and not ESPN.

The PAC took a long drink from their poisoned well and laughed it off by claiming they didn't need 16 teams. You know, just like they didn't need USC to be their flagship program.

It was far more chutzpah than hubris.

It was a slow acting poison, but you know what happened next.

The truth is that no one needs the PAC

a conference that doesn't look after the best interests of its members.

They've been fine with USC and UCLA paying their bills via equal rev share. Now, not so much.
