He’s a big kid that is a legit college starter. his stats are ok . 3 tackles a game.
That’s it. He isn’t all American . He isn’t all conference. He isn’t all anything.
He’s doesn’t have an nfl draft projection.
He probably won’t start at Whoregon.
Not sure what all the hype was about. sc
His tape is pretty good. He can play. Oregon is loaded along the DL, so did they overpay for him? They most likely did. Not worth 2M, but ducks don’t seem to be looking at the NIL from a standpoint of overall dollar value…. Phil wants a natty before his passes (he’s 86 years old). It’s obvious to me he’s willing to blow a few hundred mil over the next 3-5 years in order to get it. He also has a HUGE advantage over other NIL programs because NIKE can actually get a return on investment if these NIL players make it big professionally. They already have a leg up on signing deals with Ore athletes. Other schools don’t have donors who own hundred billion dollar sports apparel companies.
Depth. Every team who has won a NC has had depth. Dude comes in in case of injury or give the starter some rest. Or plays the 4th quarter in a blow out game so the starter doesn’t get injured. No one said he was an all-American.
Just like Dante Moore. He’s there in case the starter gets hurt. Provides relief in blow out. Dante is a 3* bust. But decent depth.
Word is Carlon Jones is up to 313 ...only a freshman and not on campus yet but coud be with the right coaching a kid that might surprise..
40 tackles
1 unassisted sack

750k is his ceiling
Oregon paid 2M to keep him from attending another school
It may come off as sour grapes, but someone who isn’t dominant and getting all that money is going to be the resentment and not envy of his more talented teammates getting paid less. We’ll see if this gets Oregon closer to a natl title or closer to Texas A&M
