I don't envy the task of hiring the next USC coach as there don't seem to be any sure fire "top notch" coaches out there aside from the usual suspects. One who does more with less talent seems to be an obvious choice. However, is he ready for the big stage of a USC? Can he beat the teams he should as well as achieve signature wins against bigger programs? (that last one relates to the purgatory of Brian Kelly).

It will be interesting to see how the coaching hire plays out. USC is still a magnet for talent. It used to be true that college football was better when both ND and USC were firing on all cylinders. Not sure if that's even true anymore in today's landscape.

It is and has been for a while now. all of it avoidable and a lot of it self inflicted. If Bohn doesn’t nail this hire but hires a decent coach it’s going to be 8-4 and 9-3, based on incoming talent. culture is entirely too focused on athletes and not football players. They need to bring in a complete outsider and put these players on notice. Don’t care how many stars you had in HS but if you can’t stay in position or wrap up or run a route correctly or block - you’re on the bench.

I don’t recall helton supporters missing any tackles or dropping any passes. I think it’s time to let Helton go. Even people like myself who thought he deserved better treatment than he got are not the problem. The past is the past and it is over
