All those great transfer players. Cam ward. Riley Leonard. Ukulele. Dante Moore. And the other Osu kids.

None of those guys will be playing in their bowl games will they?

That really ruins bowl season for a team to fight for a nice record then lose some players because they don't want to get hurt befor the draft and other because they're off to a new school.

Should just play the bowl games and not even keep score. Or eliminate about 30 of them all together

Cam Ward (not that I think he is a great transfer player) won't be playing in a bowl anyway because WSU is not eligible (5-7 record).

Potential USC opponent Clemson already has three significant absences. It's a new world and adapting is never easy., opening up the portal before bowl season was not the smartest move. Close that window and the problem is mitigated.

Mitigated...remember the Stanford RB who opted out before the Bowl Game....it's now part of the game with nothing to prove, less opportunity for injury before the draft..McCaffrey started something that will never not be a problem unless meaninless games go away..

What I mean by mitigated is that it will be less severe. Having the portal open on Dec 04 creates a rush to jump in and grab nil and forget about a bowl game. Wait until next week when the portal actually opens, it's going to be crazy. Move the portal opening to January and less players make the move so soon. Certainly not all. The guys moving to the nfl will still skip all but play off bowls.

What, the Idaho potatoes are best bowl? So many bowls they have to take 6-6 teams. Don't call them bowl games, just exhibition games. How about, you have to win 9 games to participate?

It occured to me when kids started dropping out of meaningless games a couple years ago that there shouldn't be any more Bowl games and if the 12 team scenario starts Bowl Games should be dead except for the playoff teams...waste of time....

Agreed. We will see many of the same Power 4 teams consistently in the playoffs.

The rest will be gnashing their teeth, esp the mid and lower level teams in the SEC and Big 10.

Those will be too heavy.

Will suck for UCLA.
